CADapult will be presenting at Autodesk University this year. We hope you will attend some of our sessions:

AEC Classes:

CM220-2: A Hardware Wonk's Guide to the Autodesk® Revit® Platform
The Revit platform presents challenges to IT and CAD managers who must wrestle with the unique hardware and software demands placed by this complex Building Information Modeling (BIM) authoring tool. Peer inside the mind of a hardware geek when you specify your Revit workstations to maximize investment dollars and get the best bang for the buck. We will explore the current state of the art in microprocessors, memory, video cards and disk subsystems, and how each affects Revit performance. Additionally, we will cover the special requirements and compromises needed when specifying mobile workstations, and understand what investments in ancillary software and hardware you will want to make.

CR422-1: Introducing Autodesk® Navisworks® Manage 2011
Autodesk Navisworks Manage 2011 is a breakthrough product for contractors and design professionals of all kinds. We will take a high-level view of the product, covering all of its major functions and feature sets. We will focus on using Clash Detective in real-world cases to easily identify and correct design problems before they hit the streets and cost real money. We will then look at the Timeliner in conjunction with Clash Detective to produce a true 4D construction representation of your project to manage workflow and head off disasters, both big and small. We will explore using the Presenter module to produce compelling visual images, and create walkthrough animations combined with scripts that react to events.

Facilities Management:

Extend the capabilities of AutoCAD, Revit, and Design Review to Manage Space, Personnel and Assets in Buildings
This class will focus on how AutoCAD Drawings and Revit Models can be used to link or extract data to a database to allow facilities managers to keep an accurate accounting of their space, personnel and assets and run graphic queries and reports to better manage their facilities. In addition web based tools extending the capabilities of Design Review for viewing and updating information will also be covered.

Extending the capabilities of AutoCAD and Revit Building Information to Achieve Sustainability Goals
This class will focus on how information related to building spaces and assets found in AutoCAD and Revit Building Plans can be linked or extracted to a database to run analysis of existing building assets such as lighting and plumbing fixtures and generate comparison reports based on replacing building equipment and fixtures. The reports will allow building owners to better understand their savings in energy and replacement cost, carbon footprint and water savings.

Date Coming Soon!
CADapult Ltd is planning our 4th executive BIM conference in the late fall. Our panel of experts will discuss various issues about their use of Autodesk software and their opinions of where the industry is heading. You can learn about best practices and have the opportunity to ask them questions and receive candid answers. Look for our invitation in the mail soon.

This year we are focusing on collaboration and will host a series of breakout sessions for Civil Engineers, Construction and Design
